On December 17, 2021, Constant Energy Co.,Ltd. is pleased to have signed a long-term Corporate Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Saint-Gobain Thailand Co., Ltd. for two factories in Thailand. The Solar PPA will expand both Thai Gypsum Products’ & Saint_Gobain Weber’s existing solar rooftop energy production to 1MW for each factory, for a total energy expansion of 2MW.
Headquartered in Bangkok and with multiple manufacturing sites across Thailand. Saint-Gobain is a 355-year-old organization that designs, manufactures, and distributes materials for the construction and industrial markets. These materials are used to create solutions for construction, mobility, healthcare, and other industrial applications. Solutions most commonly range from façade glass and decorative glass, plasterboard and industrial mortars, automotive to abrasive products and high-performance plastics.
“Saint-Gobain Thailand aims to distribute materials and solutions that have a positive impact on everyone’s life and provide well-being, quality of life and performance, while caring for the planet. Saint-Gobain currently employs more than 1,065 people in Thailand across its six factories and in 2020 generated revenues of about 196 million euros.”
With plans for the power plant to start generating power in 2022, this Solar PPA between the two organizations will be in effect for the next twenty years. By providing clean renewable energy, Constant Energy will be supporting Saint-Gobain in lowering their CO2 emissions, carbon footprint and their electricity bills to reach their sustainability goals of net zero carbon, in support of the company’s mission and purpose, “MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER HOME.”
This new Solar PV project PPA will allow Saint-Gobain to register savings on electricity from day one to support the reduction of their factory operating costs. This move will help to highlight the company’s constant efforts to become more sustainable with the high volume of CO2 emissions and greenhouse gases avoided. Solar rooftop power plants and solar PV systems will support Saint-Gobain Energy Saving Policy and Sustainable Development Goals in their contribution to the fight against Climate Change by expanding their use of renewable energy.
“Saint-Gobain Thailand’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050 is rooted in a long history of reducing our environmental impact. It is inseparable from our ambition to provide customers with solutions to help them decarbonize and to reduce our own environmental footprint.” – Saint-Gobain Thailand
Franck Constant, Founder and CEO of Constant Energy commented:
“We are honored to have been chosen by 355-year-old industrial house Saint Gobain to accompany them on their sustainability journey and we look forward to extending our cooperation beyond these first solar projects.”
SYLVAIN, CEO of Saint Gobain THAILAND added:
“We look forward to getting to net zero operations for our group by 2050 and this long-term solar Power Purchase Agreement with leading solar power provider Constant Energy is an immediate contribution towards that goal.”
