Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Following its award under the Large‑Scale Solar Round 5 (LSS5) programme, Constant Energy (“CE”), a leading renewable energy company in Asia, has partnered with ERS Energy Sdn Bhd for the development of a 52 MW large‑scale solar project in Kampung Gajah, Malaysia.
Under the EPC agreement, ERS Energy will be responsible for the engineering design, procurement and construction of the solar facility. The partnership brings together CE’s regional development expertise with ERS Energy’s strong track record in delivering utility‑scale solar projects in Malaysia, ensuring compliance with local regulations and seamless project execution. The EPC contract was formalised in late 2025.
Franck Constant, CEO and Founder of Constant Energy, said:
“With the backing of our group, Virya Energy, we are delighted to collaborate with such capable partners to accelerate renewable energy development in Malaysia. From our first discussions during LSS3, we recognised ERS Energy’s expertise, sharp mindset and timely response, and we look forward to maintaining this approach as we work towards energisation in early 2027.”
Alex Lum, Executive Director of ERS Energy, commented:
“We are pleased to partner with Constant Energy on the Kampung Gajah solar project. This collaboration leverages on our engineering expertise and deep regional insight to deliver this project safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.”
The Kampung Gajah project was awarded under Malaysia’s LSS5 programme, launched in April 2024 by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga). With a total target capacity of 2,000 MWac, LSS5 represents the largest solar quota released to date and forms a key pillar of Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which targets 70 per cent renewable energy generation by 2050.
Once operational, the 52 MW solar plant is expected to contribute to reducing Malaysia’s reliance on fossil fuels, lowering carbon emissions and strengthening national energy security. The project is also anticipated to support local economic activity through job creation during construction and long‑term operations and maintenance.
Strong local partnerships remain central to Constant Energy’s strategy, enabling regulatory alignment, operational reliability and deep market expertise. As Malaysia continues to scale its renewable energy capacity, Constant Energy remains well positioned to deliver impactful and sustainable energy solutions across the region.
